Am I the only fan that goes to games to actually watch an athletic competition?

I do.

Problem is, that phone in your hand has shrunk everyone’s attention span precipitously so you’ve got to do things to keep our stupid populous engaged.

Then as a former LSU fan this should be your last post. I don’t expect to see your username pop up any more!! Bye.

I was bored too watching out Heisman QB, I had great fun watching Jarret Lee, Jordan Jefferson and Danny Etling.

In the last 9 months, LSU has:

--won an NC in Women's basketball
--won the CWS
--had a player win the Heisman Trophy
--had a player win the Golden Spikes
--had a player go #1 overall in the MLB draft
--had a player go #2 overall in the MLB draft

But yeah, Woody needs somebody to come in and tell him how to run an athletic department.

If you think this was a poorer product than 2008, 2015, 2016 or 2020 then I don’t know what to fricking tell you other than you should stay at home.

Bring in over paid college grad dorks that wouldn’t know a fun football atmosphere if it hit them
In the face. Great idea. You should hire a consultant to advise from further bad decisions like this thread

Priority #2 was to get the NCAA off our arse, so we bit the bullet and canned Wade. I get it, people are pissed, but it's back to business as usual now for the dept, with men's basketball taking the fall.

This was a kind way of saying “burying the men’s basketball program as if it had received the NCAA Death Penalty.”
Yep it is. And you know what, it seems to have worked.

In case you forgot, football also had a lot of bad news swirling around it too. We had to forfeit a couple of Miles' seasons, and if I recall correctly, in 2020 we chose to self-impose a bowl ban (instead of just not going to one). I don't remember all the details, but I think the entire athletic department was in trouble, we were at risk of being hit with system-wide sanctions.
Arizona and Kansas fought while we didn't, but they don't have the football programs that we have. It wasn't worth the risk.

Like I said, it worked. Nobody is talking about possible sanctions looming over the football program now, the complaint is that we don't have good experienced corners. We just had a Heisman winner and fans expect 10+ wins as a baseline going forward.

Football is #1, men's basketball and baseball are 2a and 2b, women's basketball is #4. #1 is solid, we are national contenders (champs) in 2 of the other 3.

Yeah in the last 12 1/2 months an SECw title, a WBB title and a CWS championship.

The athletic department sure is in shambles.

Lol. What fantasy world do you live in? Baseball here has outweighed men's basketball since probably 90-91? And in several years since 01-02 women's basketball has also outweighed men's basketball here.
