Some interesting statistics from online dating:

- There are twice as many men online as there are women, even though women outnumber men in the general population. The imbalance in the general population is even more pronounced in older segments.

- Women "swipe right" on around 25% of profiles, men on about 45%.

- The "likes" are not uniformly distributed obviously. Both men and women swipe right more frequently on attractive people. The concentration is more pronounced in women.

The end result - the average male averages less than one match a day and gets frustrated and desperate. The average female gets frustrated, but also validated.

Validated so much so that "average women" believe they are entitled to the 6'2" Adonis making $300,000/yr.

Female hypergamy has always existed, but the dynamics of online dating has exacerbated it.
