Cheaper beach destinations outside the US?

I am trying to plan a trip for the SO & myself. We wanted to go somewhere beachy, not in the US. The easiest default is Mexico…
Does anyone have any other ideas?
We don’t want all inclusive, we prefer to explore local stuff more. Can be a city type place with a beach or a rural place.
TIA

You should probably give a target price range, as "cheaper" is relative

Roatan is cheap once you get there. Flights can get expensive, but not bad if you time them right.

This and if you're divers there isn't better diving in the Caribbean. The reef is part of the second longest reef chain in the world.

San Andres'/Providencia, Columbia looks nice. I have watched some travel videos. They have all-inclusives for about $250-300 per night. Condos on the Florida panhandle are $400 just for location and lodging.

Your location matters because direct flights and flight options in general can sometimes drastically influence this.
Also, your trip time makes sense because some places take a good amount of time to get to so generally longer stays are preferred.
I’m no other help

San Andrés does not have any direct flights from the US. It's very touristy and there's zero reason for an American to choose it over, say, Cancun or the DR.
Providencia is a very interesting small island that I would love to visit, but it's even harder to get to and not a place with all-inclusives.

Go to Marriott Vacations. Select your home airport and Caribbean as destination. Input your dates and let them package a deal for hotel+flights.
I’m not suggesting to book with them, but it’s a great resource to determine areas that have cheaper flights and/or deals. I’m sure you can find packages in DR for under $1,000 per person for 5 days + flight.

Sweet. Appreciate that! I will mess around with it tomorrow

It doesn't get much cheaper than the Philppines for gorgeous beaches and some pretty awesome people.
But that's a long haul and is dependent on your capacity for reminders of the surrounding poverty.

Samaná, Dominican Republic. Been a couple of times with a friend from DR.

You may have company

We just got back from Spanish Wells, Bahamas. Inexpensive compared to tourist traps. Laid back and the best beaches we’ve seen within a few hours flight. MSY to ELH on American through MIA.

Curacao is a great option. Rent a car and hit beaches all over the island. Island also has a great food and bar scene.

How far are you willing to travel?
We spent 3 days on a beach in the Philippines (Batayan Island for example) and the cost for the room, everything we ate and drink came for under $250 USD
Sure, our room was a modified shipping container but it had ac, a bed, a shower and a toilet and we did't spend too much time there but the people were awesome.
Rented scooters for a couple of days, explored the island (even found a a taco stand owned by an American from Austin) and saw some amazing sunrises and sunsets
I know it's a far way away and you'd need more than a few days but Asia has some great beach values. Getting there is the bulk of the cost ($2800 for two round trip in May 24 on EVA Air in Economy out of Houston) and points can help offset it but we try to make a trip every other year or so.

We would travel far if the price is right for sure.
That looks badass. We like no frills types of places.

Outside the 50 states? Then Puerto Rico. In particular Rincon, PR. Small surfing town with fantastic beaches where you can just be like one of the locals. Red Flamboyant is a great food choice over there if you go
