Infrared just doesn’t seem to give the vibe of a sauna to me. Requires a 120 volt outlet, more affordable. 15-20 min to warm up. Easiest to use on the go.

Infrared takes a lot longer to get to temp. At 155, you get a nice deep sweat. It takes me about twenty minutes at 155 to get into that sweat zone and then ten to fifteen minutes after I’m done.

Traditional gets hot pretty quickly if you have a big enough heater. Need to get up to about 185. I’m building one now.

Most sites advertise a short time to reach 140. And 140 degrees being the max.

Are you building the traditional from scratch?

I’m pretty intrigued by the wood burning. Seems like a great experience.
