I have told my teen repeatedly that any ticket gets her car taken away. 80 in a 55 should face some serious consequences.

that was included in our rules and expectations of driving when he got his DL.
He is now tasked with finding a ride to/from school or he can (shamefully) ride the bus. that is a him problem as far as I am concerned.
and he will certainly pay the ticket- which with court costs will be 190$.
