Isn’t Vandy the worst team in the SEC?

When he loses 2 in a row y’all will be back to saying how much he sucks… typical bipolar LSU fans. I’m staying in the in over his head boat

That’s why I wait till the consensus is overwhelming before I wanna dunk on a coach. ??

It starts with effort. They are giving that. Then there is defense, and they are showing they can do that. We are very good at stealing the ball, which is something we have not seen in a while. Offensively, we are below average. Would love to see better sets on offense. We are trying to play fast paced on offense and that is leading to some ill-advised shots. But if you are building around grit and defense, you can do a lot of good things. We will struggle offensively this year against good talent but effort and defense will keep us in some games. Overall, this is a program trending up. Would love to see more fan and institutional support for these guys. They are a gritty group of players.

No way to know this until he has better talent to work with

Well gee, golly. If only Matt McMahon had the opportunity to recruit high school players and find “his guys” in that transfer thing like they have in football. Sadly, I guess college basketball rebuilds take many, many years.

That's where you need to stay to pivot at any moment to say he sucks.

You seem mad he's 2-0 in conference play?

Apparently you weren’t aware that almost everyone left the program and he was starting from scratch.

He does also have a solid freshman contributor in Mike Williams.

This team has played very well lately and MM has done a good coaching job so far.

Are we going to be seeing “OH YEAH WHERE ARE ALL THE IDIOTS WHO WANTED HIM FIRED” crowd next month, kind of like they did with Jayden Daniels acting like he was a world beater last year

Vandy is a team we should beat. aTm is a better win than ANY win we had last year. 2-0 feels nice but we're just getting started. Auburn is going to be a tough game. They are a hard team to beat on their home court.

Time will tell but as I've been saying from a pure talent perspective this team is better than last year. Unfortunately that's not saying much since we only had 2 wins, but improvement is improvement.

My hope for this year is an NIT berth..

It's early to be admitting being wrong about anything though either way.
. This. Two games in to the season doesn’t prove too much. A whole bunch of games left.

Other Cook and Wright he don’t have much to work with. To get this team to 2-0( I didn’t think we would win a SEC game) is amazing

I'm pulling for the guy, I really am. What I said all of last year was both things can be true at the same time, the talent not being great and that collection of talent still underachieving. That's what I think we saw last year.

To what degree one would want to put that on the head coach if true is up to them, for me .....he's the head coach so IMHO that percentage would be high.

Cook obviously makes a difference but it wasn't Cook that won us the A&M game it was the out of nowhere, all of a sudden, we found a way to rebound the ball.

I still have concerns re: overall development and individual improvement with certain players, but that A&M game and the rebounding was the type of improvement, at least in one area, that I've been waiting an hoping for since he's been here.

And I hope that spreads to other areas as this year continues.

If we can muddle through this season and be .500 in the SEC I will be happy. That is a trajectory that puts you back in the tourney in year three.

You are making the same mistake you made when you condemned him without enough data to know.

Yeah, MM spoke about it in the post game interview. Said they had a lot of bad possessions in the first half. Mentioned the previous game left the team a little gassed from an effort standpoint.

He gets a lot of shite in here, but he’s a damn good coach. This team has potential to compete. That’s all we can ask for until we keep getting better and better pieces to this program. We are much better on defense this year and they play faster. Two really good areas of improvement.

Nobody here needs to eat crow
Nobody here needs to admit they were wrong
Nobody here is that important

People will be wrong, people will be right, people still still argue.

The sun will rise and set and the same will repeat itself tomorrow.
