Considering we have a great DL coach and 0 signees. A bit perplexed

All will be revealed.

We have Reliford, Johnson, Washington + Breaux signed. McKinley is committed. Robinson and Muhammad are good probability commits here coming up. Possibly 1 or 2 others that come out of spring ball.

It’s a total rebuild of the room but have some faith Bo can mold these boys.

Spots are not limited. Not sure why people think that. College football is a business now, spots will be made available.

Dezz Ricks was simply a case of a guy we were interested in but he wanted a much bigger bag than we were willing to pay and told him not interested. We can pay for some guys, but we arent going to overpay for someone if that makes sense. We are not going out there especially and competing with the absurdly high offers going around like someone Caleb Downs would get.

Just my observation: Portal and NIL are great when used properly. When used improperly, they can cause lots of culture issues in a program. I think Kelly has a plan on how to use it for the long-term good of the program.

Because when you overpay for players, that causes a ripple effect throughout the program.

The lack of signing day drama, likely losing only one surprise portal player (Heard) and very few bowl game opt outs should show any LSU fan that Kelly is building a great culture and that is more important in this current era than it ever has been.

Not really surprised. The portal worked well in 22’, wasn’t so great in 23’. They have publicly said they want to build through HS & supplement the roster with transfers. That looks to be exactly what they are doing.

It’s nutty, fans would rather win recruiting titles vs actually organically building the roster. Zero patience & no attention span.

Spots are very limited, we are at 89 scholarship players right now before we add anyone else and we're probably adding at least 3 more players between Bussey, CB, DT...So if thats the case we need 7 MORE players on the current roster to take a hike which isnt exactly going to be easy.

Kelly said they would be very selective due to their overall recruiting strategy coming into alignment.

If we’re going to hang onto Underwood and Moore, they best get used of bidding wars. Others teams will come hot and heavy. If they’re not down for it, I guarantee neither of them takes a snap for LSU.

There’s no reason we shouldn’t be in play for some of these guys and we haven’t grabbed any.

Yes there is a reason, it's called Strategy. LSU replenished the Roster thru the Portal. Now it's time to focus on the development on the young players. That's what you sell. Would you rather the strategy to be to pass on a QB like Underwood for a Portal QB or rely on your strategy of player development and sprinkle in Portal additions along the way?

Are you genuinely shocked? I mean, the ink on these coaches contracts is practically still wet. Do you seriously expect these kids to declare their undying loyalty to LSU the moment a coach steps in? Constructing a roster and filling holes in a roster takes time. Some folks act like the transfer portal operates at Amazon Prime speed. Just sit back, chill, and trust the process. We've now have responsible adults running the show.

I really feel that we need to be more expecting a nice calculated plan, I think something big happens w another DB and a couple DL in the next few months.

We do have number issues and need to insure our guys find good landing spots versus just processing them out.

I think folks are underestimating what a good coach at the position can do for the guys.

LSU pulled poor Pete Jenkins out of retirement again last year because the line was getting shite coaching.

Insiders and people with knowledge of our process have repeatedly stated to look for us to bring in SEC starting caliber DT from the spring portal, and possibly another Juco grad transfer, along with possibly another corner.

I guess you either aren't that in to recruiting, or just haven't seen or heard that.

At this point, you would think people would just sit back and accept the fact that Kelly always has a plan. It's insane to think otherwise at this point.

Now, whether you like the plan, or if the plan is going to work, can be debated and prove out in the long term. But people really shouldn't put much effort in questioning whether issues will or will not be addressed.

Same here but spring is not far off and i can see us being pretty selective on trying to find guys that are instant plug and play especially with the coaching staff being in place on the defensive side. There maybe guys out there at good schools that may jump at the opportunity to play at LSU an actually get coached up.

Ummm I think we have quite a few visitors coming, we got our best DL recruits from this current class and still recruiting. There has been lots of movement with defensive players since hiring the coaches or word of movement.

We just hired these guys last week and finished this week. They haven’t unpacked their bags yet. They have real lives. Have to sell a house, buy a house, find a new desk, computer, furniture and all the little things that come with a move. While LSU probably has resources to help with this, it still takes time.

We will get results from these hires. It will definitely take time to get where we want to be though.
