PSA announcement:Price to the farmers dropped to $6.50lb from $8lb. So all retailers should have dropped atleast $1.50 off their prices.

The farmer was getting $2.50lb last year at this time. Not possible that boiled crawfish was $2.99lb in Dothan AL.

Anything over 5 bucks a pound for crawfish is ridiculous. A pound of raw or cooked crawfish is maybe 4-5 ozs of meat. So you are paying 2-3 dollars an ounce for the Edible meat. More than lobster or prime beef

I’m not big on big government but I’d be for a $9.99/lb cap for boiled.

I understand it going up, I really do. But there’s a limit.

Crawfish on the Geaux just posted $11.50/lb boiled.

As long as we’re under $10 by March 1 I think we can all exhale.

Now that would be some comical Louisiana “small government” legislation.

A cap like 5.99 would be unreasonable, but I think the whole state can agree that $9.99 is the absolute maximum anyone should ever pay for a pound of crawfish.

Was just talking to a few buddies about this today and we feel the same.

Back to good ole backyard BBQs this spring.
