1)what do you think it will take for you to be ok with Ingram getting a max?

2)what do you think Griff will need to see to give him a max?

3)do you think Griff has already decided to give him a max?

1. He can put up those kinds of performances consistently vs contenders. As in, we make the playoffs go 2 rounds deep and he shows you he can be kd elite in both series. Health for the year

2. Same as above imho.

3. No, because we're not going to hamstring ourselves and the tax unless it's a clear cut case.

lead us to a 1st round playoff series win, playing well in the clutch.

He's already giving it to him.

I agree with Teddy. Lead us to a first round win and a very competitive second round. Griff has already decided these are the horses he’s riding with.

He would need to be a different player, we have seen what Ingram is over the past 5 years, he is not worth a 30% max.

2)what do you think Griff will need to see to give him a max?

Hopefully nothing, because he shouldn't give him a max offer. I seriously doubt anyone else will.

Hopefully not.

Learning how to play off ball. Shooting 7-8 3s per game. Focusing on defense and deferring to the true number 1 which i Zion.

2)what do you think Griff will need to see to give him a max?

Nothing. Griff made up his mind a while ago

3)do you think Griff has already decided to give him a max?

Yes

I think that level of salary should be reserved for MVP level players.

Simple question. Is BI in the top 20 candidates for MVP? If not, the answer is no, he should not get that contract.

He's closer to Bradley Beal than Durant. We know how that played out for Washington.

- Take more 3s

- Defer to Zion

- Do what his coach says and stop putting himself and what he wants over what's best for the team

For the record, he isn't going to do all those things consistently...ever. It's not happening.

I agree, although I’d say it, learn how to play off ball with Zion more.

I don’t want him off ball when Zion isn’t in. He’s been playing great as the “pg”.
It sure would be nice if we ran a high pick and roll with Zion and BI, I don’t know, maybe 30 times a game instead of 1 or 2.

And I think you have without a doubt seen more effort defensively from BI than in previous years, rebounding as well.
He doesn’t block Wemby on the putback and we lose to the Spurs. Old BI wouldn’t have been around the goal to even do that.

He may be 1A now cause of Zion’s work ethic pre IST. Show me he can play off Zion, cause there’s no world where he’s even 1B if Zion is healthy, engaged, and in shape.

39%+ from 3 on 8+ attempts a game.

The crazy thing is...

BI shoots about 4 3s per game. We would like for him to shoot 4 more.

BI also shoots 44.6% on long 2s. So we're asking for him is to swap 4 of those long 2s for additional 3s, and all he'd need to shoot to not lose any efficiency on those 4 attempts is 30% from 3, that's it. And obviously he's good enough that he'll shoot much higher than that number, and thus more efficiently. But 30% is the baseline to remain the same level of efficiency.

BI will get a max and should get a max. He would get more if max contracts were not a thing. He thankfully can not get a super max, and his contract will be very much in line with the player as the salary cap increases.

Last night’s BI absolutely. Overall, I don’t know. We just don’t see the consistency enough. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope last night leads to more consistent big time showings- we’ll see down the stretch.

And it'll be a negative value contract the moment it is signed. Much like Beal and Lavine.

And no team has ever competed for anything of note when their supposedly #1 player is on a negative value contract.

There is no way he is worth the max and will become an albatross at the back end of the contract. We should have traded BI last summer, knowing this was coming.

Let's not forget he's a soft slap to the head or stubbed toe away from missing 30 games either. No way I'm paying that.

for sake of argument, here is BI next to Jaylen Brown....

Season Stats
-Jaylen Brown
46 games
22.3 p/g
5.4 rpg
3.7 assists
49.1% fg
34.8% 3p
72.7% ft

Season Stats
-Brandon Ingram
46 games
21.8 p/g
5.0 rpg
5.7 assists
49.5% fg
37.4% 3p
80.6% ft

Brown takes a couple of more 3 pointers per game, but shoots a worse average
