I am also hoping to keep the house. It will be damn close though financially.
But she moved out.
I want to be the stable parent that kept the kids in the family home and in the private school.
And I can eventually recoup some money comparatively to her if I keep the mortgage with the 2.7 % interest rate compared to today's 6 or 7% rates.
I also have a real strong relationship now with her father. She grew up without him around and it turns out her mother kinda pulled the same nonsense on him. So he and I are bonding and venting over this.
Their relationship has been broken since she only asks him for money mostly and had the gall to ask him for her inheritance early to buy a new house for her and the kids. Never once Asked him about filing for divorce or anything related.
It's a crazy circumstance.
