I'm assuming that they died of different types of cancer? Still, you hafta think there was some environmental factor at work. The kids need to go get screened; even at their age.

Toughen up. The OP is talking about the unfortunate deaths of two relatively young people from cancer, it's a known statistical fact cancer has been on a tear since COVID19. It sucks.

Specifically. frick pancreatic cancer. You get that, it's a death sentence. Cancer really sucks but pancreatic cancer is mother fricker with a sledge hammer constantly hitting you in the gut.

Their kids are between 18-20 years old. This breaks my heart for them.

Yeah I am sure that makes kids feel better about having no parents now. Jeez most 18 year olds wouldn't have a clue what to do with that much money and would go on a crazy bender

Hopefully they have someone looking out for them

One of the reasons it's a death sentence is that it's asymptomatic until it has spread to the surrounding organs. And by then it's usually too late to do anything but make final arrangements. If you randomly catch it early you have a chance. Sadly his wife was probably helping him cope with his disease while not realizing she had a ticking time bomb in her pancreas.

Also depends on whether it is proximal or distal.

Distal pancreatic lesions can be removed with a relatively straightforward procedure (they will also remove the spleen).

Proximal tumors (if they are a surgical candidate) need a Whipple procedure (which is very complex with biliary component, bowel diversion and such).
