I’m super cheap. I just made my own out of a few 2x4s, 1x6s, plywood, felt, a hasp, and a lock. Built it and stained it in less than a day.

I also have a Liberty but don't think it is a fat boy. I keep the 48-gun safe in my room. Nobody goes to my room other than my family so I can keep all my guests feeling honest.

The gun safe does not really hold 10 long guns well. Especially not going to hold 15 rifles with scopes.

While the quick access of an electronic lock is appealing I prefer a good S&G dial lock as it has no electronics

That's why you get an electronic lock with a backup key.

I have the liberty fatboy jr xl. I’m happy with it. But I wouldn’t recommend liberty after they gave combinations to one of the 3 letter crews. Also, I might break the bank.

So... do these safes have to be on a slab? the only slab we have is the garage floor.

It would depend on the weight of the safe, but no, they don’t have to go on a slab.
