Been a few times, with a bunch of dudes, I have to say sit bleachers. Hit up Murphy's, The Cubby bear, Sluggers, tons of great bars in that area. Or, or you could do it big and do the Makers Mark bar inside of Wrigley. I have never done it, but I know some who have been, it would probably be a cool experience. Maybe something to look into.

Used to live there a mile from the field for a long time. This is a great bachelor party event. Bleachers are good, it's like the infield at Indy 500 - a bit rowdy and fun. Bring sun protection as you are staring right into the sun on afternoon games.

Also rooftops can be fun if you have a group. $150/ea all you can eat/drink. Basically gas station pizza and nachos and cheap bear. We used to go with our alumni association and it was awesome.

BUMP: Asked the boys which stadium they wanted to hit up this year and they picked Wrigley. The dates that work for us, we can catch a Cubs and Sox Game. What is my best bet as a far as hotel location goes? Cubs is Sunday 1:10, Sox Monday 7:20. Fly home from Ohare on Tuesday. We fly in Saturday afternoon

Is price an issue? I love Hotel Zachary in Wrigleyville.

The only hang up I have is where in Wrigley to sit. I know I mentioned bachelor party, but our ages range from 43 - 48. Put it like this, we all have a little bit of money, are married (soon-to-be for one), have kids, etc. I’m fine sitting in the bleachers; however, the potentially baking in the sun is off putting.

I spent the extra money to be under the over hang down the 3rd base line both times I went. Worth it.

The redline goes to both stadiums so any hotel within a couple blocks or however far you want to walk to the redline is generally a great spot.

In regards to seats there’s a lot of old posts here. But the bleachers you can’t get to the rest of the stadium. I love the bleachers, I’ve been first in line 3 hours before the game back in the Sosa days. But you are staring into the sun and there’s other limitations.

Time of year also really matters. Spring games and fall you want to pay attention to weather and game time. I went to a late April 1pm game 3 years ago that was freezing in our seats in the shade but the sun was probably 15* warmer. Coldest at a baseball game I’ve ever been we wore winter coats and hats but didn’t plan on it being THAT cold.

Find a hotel in River North, The Loop, or Streeterville. These will have the greatest concentration of hotels across all price ranges. Plus, you'll be in walking distance of a Red Line station, which goes to both stadiums (as baldona said).

If you’re a whiskey/bourbon guy go hit up GNS market and grab one of their store picks.

Following up that I see this thread was bumped. All of this information was insanely helpful for our trip back in April. Staying in River north and hoping on the trains was super simple. Already can’t wait to go back to the city

Can’t remember if it was OP or another poster asking about tickets and they all had money, we did Catalina Club which ended up being about $120 each and it was an unbelievable experience. Awesome buffet, all you can drink beer and wine, sick view on a balcony above the home plate entrance that looks back towards the city where they grill hot dogs and burgers for you. The Sunday game tickets will probably be a little more pricey but if they are within the range I’d recommend. And they also let you hang out there for like 45 minutes after the last out so you can have another beverage and watch the ground crew prep the field

Going next month. Son and I are taking the train from NOLA. Wife is flying up to meet us. Going to Cubs Friday and then Kenny Chesney on Saturday at Soldier.

Any recommendations for Sunday before we all fly back at 4:20p.
