As a gamer, the Diablo franchise is more of my jam, but my two oldest kids played a lot of Fallout 4 and I watched them enough to be casually aware of the world. This adaptation is extremely well done. Devotees may be enamored (or critcal) on a whole different level, but this is a fun series for anyone who likes post-apocalyptic sci fi with some violence, even if they don't know the game. Goggins is the cherry on the sundae.

I loved it. Seems like a lot of longtime fans are pissed about the ending though at least on r/Fallout.

They're mad because they're supposedly making canon endings to the game with the Prydwen being involved and I guess the NCR not owning New Vegas.

Every game has multiple endings but obviously something has to happen canon-wise. They can't just leave it blank.

A bit underwhelming if only 1 season. Since there'll be a season 2, they're just anxious.

Fallout actually has some of the most insanely unreasonable fans of any franchise. They won't accept anything that's not Fallout 1 or 2. Some claim to like New Vegas but I think that's just because they hate Bethesda so much. I won't go anywhere near No Mutants Allowed anymore. It might be the biggest cesspool on the internet.

You can tell this show is a tier above HALO, and several above Twisted Metal. Amazon seems to have scored on this one.

I assume you mean in terms of production quality? Because I enjoyed Twisted Metal x100 more than whatever they did to Halo.

Correct there was nothing to indicate Dane was trans. There were two androgynous assumingly non-binary characters in 76, Burke and the weird manager at the Whitesprings (?) resort.

Know nothing about the game, never played it….but really enjoying this show…. I’m 6 episodes in

Started Friday night and can’t quit watching. Pretty entertaining.

Highly recommend for those - like me - that like apocalyptic seemingly-realistic sci-fi, with political undertones

Question: watching episode7, did I miss something in episode 6… how did the Ghould get away from the President?

Yeah, I'm talking about production quality. I also enjoyed Twisted Metal well enough, but it's cheap. You can tell that. Halo isn't cheap, and neither is this.

Funny. I had only glanced in this thread while watching to avoid spoilers and kept waiting to see who the tranny was I just assumed that chick was the only girl in the brotherhood

As someone who had barely ever even heard of the video game, knew nothing of the stories, characters, etc. I still found it to be an enjoyable watch. Maybe even more than a fan since I have no clue wtf is going on half the time

Spoiler

Took the sheriffs guns when they sent to take him to the hogs and shot both of them. Then started talking to the president about a picture of a woman on the wall

I just finished the series...Holy frick, that was incredible; they knocked this series out of the park.

I've played every version of Fallout since the original was released. This series not only stayed faithful to the source material but also filled in details never revealed in the games.

I thought Shogun would be the year's best series, but Fallout beats it.

Not reading any of this thread until I finish but I am just unbelievably giddy that I get to share the Fallout lore with others, I did my absolute best to not divulge much information to my wife as we were watching.

I don’t care that it’s not a 1:1, just incredibly happy that others can get a taste of the fallout universe.

Never played the game .... my generation typically never fell for that crap. But we're three episodes in and we're liking it.

Yeah some people are not happy with the second half/ending. I liked it. I have played Fallout 4 a couple times and a couple of other Bethesda games. The story is ALWAYS what you make of it. It can be simple or crazy depending on choices and perception. This kind of fell into that for me. I will say I still hate Maximus and hate that they tried to make me not hate him.

frick me, that was amazing. Bethesda created such a rich world to tell stories in,and that might be one of the most faithful adaptations of a VG world I've ever seen.

Finally seeing the Brotherhood in live action was impressive.

I was a little disappointed that we got no Children of the Atom, but that was a lot to pack into 8 episodes.

I definitely wasn't expecting the reveal about how the war started. If that's in the games, I never got that far.

The Deathclaw tease was awesome.

There is an extremely large segment of game players that always picks females when given the option because they don't want to look at male backsides all game (I have quite a few friends that are that way).

My Blood Elf Paladin was a female for that exact reason. (Well, that and I have a massive voice crush on Alicyn Packard who voiced her).

Hopefully with them nailing it, we’ll get multiple seasons with different locations to explore things like the children of atom

This was the only thing even slightly disappointing about this season, not enough irradiated monsters to build the world out a bit. They teased a super mutant so I’m guessing season 2 will be packed with it, now that characters are established.
