This aligns with my conspiracy theory that Israel wants to build a canal that competes with Egypt's Suez. The first order of business is clearing the part of the Gaza Strip that borders Egypt.

Or they could have just, ya know, KEPT Gaza instead of giving the territory over to the Palestinians back in 2005.

Not really a conspiracy. They've publicly considered connecting the Med with the Dead Sea and Red Sea for decades.
