Also Friday night games aren't new. ESPN and FS1 have had them for a while. They're just lying when they say they're going to be good games. It'll be BYU/Arizona St. and Maryland/Illinois level games.

I think you will have more Oregon-Iowa level games, but probably some of the ones you mentioned too. Difference is these will be on big Fox broadcast channel instead of cable. And Fox plans to brand this window like they did Big Noon.

I think it’ll be successful given the reach it has and also not as much competition

This will be like Thursday night football. Something to gamble on, otherwise not worth your time.

What is going to be the most pathetic matchup that they’ll showcase for Friday Night Football?

Dumb. Most cfb fans follow high school football as well.

lol no

Most normal grown adults stop giving a frick about HS football when they leave HS. Then start to watch it when their kids play.

The only dudes who still are into HS after leaving HS are the dudes who peaked in HS trying to remember their glory days.

But we’re in SEC country… people may not go to every game as they get older but they damn sure know how the team is doing

So is all this really is moving games from FS1 to FOX? Or will FS1 still have games that night?

The percentage of people who go to HS games has to be minuscule in the grand scheme.

Offbase here.

In Texas people follow the local team cause that’s all there is to get excited about in town.

Tbd I think. But I’d bet there will still be some FS1 games too, but probably not every week.

People move there if they have a star sports player so they might be more into it than most places around texas. Tons of money pumped in. If you care about your kids academics and not football you might send your kid to a different school that is not so football crazy.

I’d rather they try to bring back good games on Thursday nights though like we had in the 2000’s. Friday nights have never been great for TV audiences anyway.

Problem is the NFL now has thursday night football, so you won't get premier games on that night in college

I don't mind 1-2 good games on Friday night. Could free up some time on Saturday to watch teams you don't get to see as often

Imagine being angry about an extra night of college football.

Meh nobody’s gonna skip a good high school game because Illinois is playing UCLA

If you’re a college playing on Friday night you probably suck and deserve it. They want to get some eyeballs on those games because they’d get passed over on Saturday and get none otherwise (think midweek MAC)
