My first thought but it’s not THAT expensive to make it undoable. And I could do it for more than a week maybe too without boredom setting in.

I am planning a trip for our 25 anniversary to Bora Bora and it is not crazy expensive. The over water bungalow resorts in the Caribbean are much more expensive. Only problem with Bora Bora is basically spending 2 days traveling there and then 2 days coming back.

A lot of the other super isolated island destinations are the same way. You can do a trip for 2 at a beautiful resort for 10k, but you spend 25% of your trip traveling, especially from a regional airport in the Eastern half of the US.

I don’t think the hotel cost is the biggest concern. I found that part to be quite reasonable.

We are going to the St. Regis in October. Staying in LA 2 days first. I'm hoping the LAX-PPT won't be too bad as we leave LAX at like 11pm and arrive like 6am their time. Booked through Costco. 5 nights, 2 in premium economy LAX-BB. Breakfast and some sort of dinner included. $15.3k
