Hold on! Is Hanny saying MM is purposely turning down NIL money for better talent and/or transfers?

You can’t be serious.

He's old school, but he's not dumb. I don't believe that he's turning down NIL money. We gave Jalen Cook a good bit of money to come back. But yet we don't utilize NIL? Both can't exist at once.

Not to mention we stole Curtis Givens from Memphis. Are we supposed to believe he came here for free?

It’s going to take him a good five years to clean up the mess left by Wade. Tiger fans will just have to be patient.

Yeah screw that nobody sitting around for five years in any program without major change

So your plan is to win with players that don’t care about NIL??

But the difference is that a decade ago only about 3 sec teams per year were making the dance, so auburn could afford to be patient with him and let him build his program. Not to mention Auburn was a historical basketball doormat in this conference prior to Pearl. Now, 8-9 SEC teams a year are making the tournament and we are adding two more teams next year that usually make the tournament as well. We have to catch up ASAP.

Right now the only thing our players care about is NIL. They couldn't care less about losing last night. I trust McMahon and excited to see who he brings in for next year, since theyll be HIS recruits. #TrustMcMahon

So the players he brings in will care about LSU more than NIL, which will be different from this year? ok, got it

Look, I'll go to the games and support he and this team to the best of my ability. Hell, I was one of the 1800 people there last night.

Don't mean I won't come here and express concerns and give opinions that aren't always flattering, but I hope he can get it done, I really, really do.

Erm, other than Mwani, this team was HIS recruits (mostly portal transfers but you get the point)

How many years does it take to get his own recruits?

I really don't understand this. Every player out there has been HIS recruit whether they were high school, transfer portal or former players he talked into coming back. Reed, Williams and Ward are all his high school recruits. There are more but one wasn't good enough to play so he was red shirted and another transferred after last year. This next year he has exactly TWO high school recruits. Whether they can play right away yet to be determined. So once again it is jump into the transfer portal and hope you can pull some real talent while also trying to keep your current players from leaving. So you make no sense whatsoever!!!

I don't know that he's the long term answer, but people on here thinking he's gonna be fired next spring are typical internet idiots. He's getting two more seasons minimum. I would wager three unless we win 12 games or less both seasons.

Wade did it in year one with a sword hanging over his head. Why should McMahon need five years?

It seems that people don't understand the current state of college basketball team construction. It is a yearly process and only takes one year to turn it around.

If he is here the next 5 years we need to make atleast 3 NCAA tournaments or something. idgaf if we go 0-3 in the first rounds we have got to start building the foundation that this program is an NCAA tournament program. Just get in the stupid tournament. Its 68 freaking teams, the barrier isn't even that high. Its absurd that this program has had one small blip of being able to do that in the past 30 years.

What a sad state the men’s basketball program is in if this is actually the case.
