One of my kids scored a 1490 on the SAT on his only attempt for which he did not even prepare, and was ranked high enough in the class to get auto-accepted at UT in Austin. Every day, the mailbox would have at least 2 or 3 mailers from schools from Harvard to UT Dallas. LSU sent their first mailer in the Spring of senior year.

LSU didn’t even try for this lucrative OOS student.
