I’ll make it really simple. Older fans like yourself hate Texas as that was your true rival. Once Arkansas joined the SEC, the hate you have for Texas was applied to LSU by the younger generation of Hog fans.
It is not a 50/50 split. I have lived here nearly 20 years and have experienced everything first hand, including the growing portion of out of state residents. 100% is growing towards that though and I have noticed less shite talking for simply wearing LSU gear, but it is still there and I have people come up to me randomly just to say LSU sucks or F LSU. Hell it happened to me Honduras during Spring Break.
If you follow baseball you know it’s true, but I got into a huge fight with my wife on this. She had no idea we had won 6 National Championships in baseball. I have had this argument with multiple Arkansas fans.

I think what other fans may not realize is generally Arkansas fans can’t stand any other fanbase that isn’t Arkansas. It’s why fans claim we have 3-4 super bowls every year
