This made me look at SEC stats
LSU leads the SEC in 3 categories: caught stealing, striking out & striking out looking

Kind of strange seeing a JJ team struggle so much on offense.

I think you looked at this wrong

LSU pitchers are first in striking out the opposing batters
If you look under pitching in the LSU cumulative stats, you see that the total, 322, matches how many batters our oitchers struck out.
It also appears these are totals for the season, not only in SEC play. I think LSU looks much worse in SEC only stats

Again, I'm pretty sure that stat is our pitchers striking out their hitters looking
ESPN is not completely clear in their layout
