Kling is only good for three outs on most nights. By the time his 4th at bat comes around, he's already been taken out

It’s uncanny how many (blown) RBI opportunities find him in those 3 at bats too!

Yes, he's a very good defensive player. But LSU should not ever have a sub-.190 avg bat anywhere near its lineup.

Crazy to think that people are this board who will never admit they are wrong were pretty passionate about Kling staying as the lead off hitter because he has a bunch of HBP and no one else can do what he does.

If Kling doesn’t change his stance and start trying to hit the ball the other way he’ll never be good. That’s what I keep screaming about this. I can’t for the life of me understand how Jay doesn’t do anything about this. That’s literally his expertise.

He keeps trotting him out there to fail and it’s infuriating.

Kling pulls off so bad that anything on the outside will be a swing and a miss,

The lack of foul balls and battling at bats has been shocking to watch this season.

His defense is the only reason he still plays

Neal actually got a couple of hits vs Arky so off goes the goosegg. Kling is still waiting. He did smoke one right to the SS in one game. Maybe there's a smoldering spark still in there.

I’ve seen Neal (as well as a few others) change their 2 strike approach since the FL series

What about his slide before the injury last season? What was the excuse then?

At what point is it not just the players but also Jay Johnson? It’s not like 1 guy isn’t hitting the ball but multiple guys. The guys that are hitting the ball knew how to hit, or could hit, before Jay Johnson. The ones that are struggling to hit, have only been coached by JJ.
I know JJ is supposed to be a hitting guru but maybe he should re-evaluate what he is teaching or bring in some new blood. The guys with the most success at the plate under JJ are guys from the Maineri days or transfers. That is the most concerning thing to me is whether or not it’s a coaching or recruiting issue?
The same can be said with pitching. 2 years and we still have a ton of walks. Outside of last years post season, we have walked way to many people and it is now costing us games because we can’t hit.

I don't blame Johnson. Sometimes a coaches messages gets stale among players even tho it's actually the correct message.

Well Kling needs to get out of his bender. I don't believe he is a terrible batter like he's showing. I think he's a .250 hitter right now. Which that 1 hit is what this team is missing from both Neal and Kling.
