It isn't an excuse, it's a statement of fact.

Pretty much no college football team, including your beloved Crimson Tide, are on the field during the National Anthem. (This is true of my LSU Fighting Tigers as well).
Spare me your outrage at the Lady Tigers never being on the court. If that's what they do, that's what they do.
