Small businesses that buy from websites like shien and sell it as their own product for 3x mark up wondering why their profits are lower?

Most small businesses don’t add value

Holy shite, you just typed that.

Most small businesses are service firms: plumbers, electricians, lawn care, auto repair, etc.

Aren’t some of those the jobs this board claims people “make a killing” working? If so, how will raising the minimum wage impact those small businesses? One must assume those workers already make double or more the minimum wage.

Economic Darwinism. If a business produces a product or service people want, then everyone benefits. If not, then they deserve to go the way of the dodo or the Loch Ness Monster.

Raise the minimum wage... to whatever the market will bear

How do we determine what the market will bear?

His/her idea is to just keep raising it until you force businesses to close. Somehow that's economic darwinism

Minimum wage increase only increases the poverty line and reduces purchasing power of the middle class

Right, so get rid of the subsidies, and we'll have a free market where the potential employees and employers will have to figure out what the work is actually worth.

I’m good with it.

People get paid what’s offered, people either accept, or move on. It’s not that hard to understand. It doesn’t matter if you took out 80,000 in student loans for a degree that’s not going to get you 6 figures, or someone that has just been a frickup for most of their life. The minimum wage matters when it increases prices to the point where most people can’t afford it, plain and simple. We all know the fake money started under former President Trump, and continued under President Biden till the point now where it’s just a matter of time before we fall off a cliff. The economy doesn’t care about feelings, and sooner or later the band aids won’t fix what’s evidently coming.
