If the WNBA is smart..... which it very well may not be.

This is their best chance ever to gain fans, both Clark and Reese will bring in eyes, they'll have to be able to keep them though.

someone in the marketing department needs to try to make this a Magic/Bird type scenario.

Ask Livvy Dunne. She has increased her social media status even while hardly competing at all…

Because she has sex appeal. Entirely different.

I mean we won a NC and went to an Elite 8 with her.

Ugh, like be a 2 time All American, going 65-7, winning National Championship, playing in 2 most watched WBB in history and putting the WBB & LSU brand in national spotlight. Yeah let’s get those distractions out of the way now.

Ask LIV golf players about what a lack of exposure does to endorsements. If you are not on tv, followers stop following and endorsers stop paying. If playing in the WNBA you might as well start an Onlyfans page bc no one is going to watch womens pro basketball. Just ask Bill Burr about it…??

Bird was great but Magic was better. This time around Caitlin is way better and I love Angel.

LSU vs Iowa had 12m viewers

Has WNBA total viewer life to date even been 12m?

This is definitely the most eyes that will ever be on Reese from a marketing perspective. The WNBA finals averaged just under 900,000 viewers last year.

I think the highest viewership of a wnba game is like 1.3 mil.

It is possible she is at her apex influencer level right now.

Some said it earlier but the wnba needs to be trying to turn Clark/Reese into a Bird/magic situation. Because if they don’t, the eyes on Reese are about to reduce very dramatically.

It’s feasible LSU goes on another tourney run next year with Big4 and HVL and while media is all over them, no one remembers where Angel Reese went. (Ex. Who drafted her again? The Chicago Sky? That’s a team name right? Uh I guess so bro.)
Will she care? Who knows. She’ll be paid at least for awhile. If I’m her agent I’m having her lean into being an influencer outside of bball though.

Finding a replacement for 20 boards and 17 points could arguably cause a distraction bigger than the girl who was playing good basketball (even if a significant portion of her rebounds was her cleaning up her own junk)

Only if you can replace her. I'll be watching for that replacement. She was boss lady on the court. Hard to replace that. When athletes compete at high levels, you should expect that not everyone will be eloquent. It's hard enough to put that ball in the hoop, meanwhile managing your actions, school, and people's expectations.

This is just stupid. Her numbers are numbers Fowles didn’t put up AND she won a title.
She could literally be Dennis Rodman like distracting and it’d still be worth it.

FYI - Angel has endorsement deals signed with National, name brand powerhouse companies that will stay with her for years to come . She said so in one of her recent pressers. HVL said this as well. We aren't talking about the LSU collective. We are talking about signed contracts. She will continue to earn plenty of money once she leaves LSU.
No way these companies think the ROI is there. This is a national push to make women’s basketball relevant.

It really does not matter if she plays or not in this social media influencer age. Companies will be paying her for access to her social media following. Instagram - 2.7 million Facebook - 64,000 Twitter/X - 392,000 TikTok - 2.9 million

Absolutely, hardly anyone will care when she plays in the WNBA. She has a brand now and is basically an influencer. Sex does sell and she is attractive.
