James Doakes should have been the one that caught Dexter.

Not a woman that he was dating, that was also a cop. Doakes was the only one to ever see Dexter for what he was. Lundy should have seen it but wasn't around as much as Doakes was. Doakes was one of, if not my favorite character on the show. Saying that it should have been Doakes that turned Dexter in.

I agree 100% man that show started off like a banger then just fell off in the final few seasons. Such a shame. but I remember the first watch we were on pins and needles with some of the stuff he did. Good times

side note did you watch the "new season" with his kid I think it was showtime, we got through 4 or 5 episodes then lost the feed to ST

Doakes storyline was season 2 I think, so I mean it would kinda suck to have him catch dexter that early in the series lol. If you want to say doakes should have never bene killed and turned dexter in later in the series, then ok yeah maybe...but I never really hated how it played out. I think Doakes being on to Dexter and nearly catching him before finally having to be dealt with was some great drama and tension for that early in teh show.

You would probably prefer the books over the Showtime series.

Doakes is more of a focus.
