Picked them up at tractor supply on sale for 12 bucks a piece. I know it says zones 2 through 6.However was wondering if anyone has ever had any success in growing these in louisiana may be in the shaded areas of their yard?

Pretty sure they won’t do well no matter the exact spot in Louisiana.
Basically the exact opposite of our climate

The Black Hills spruce grows best in dry, non-humid conditions with cold winters and cool summers, but the tree requires full sunlight and acidic soil. Be aware that this tree will only do well in USDA hardiness zones 3-6.

I bought an inexpensive dwarf Alberta spruce a few years ago, which is supposedly a cultivar of Black Hills spruce. I let it dry out only briefly once during the first summer, a few leaves turned brown, and it never recovered. South Louisiana heat was possibly stressing it anyway. Put it in well draining soil, but keep it watered, and with some afternoon shade in the summer; maybe you’ll have better luck.
