The area of Ponchartrain Drive and Old Spanish Trail got hit. Power is out all over Slidell and PR.

Tornado sirens going off and serious winds going on in my hood in D'Iberville. Sounds like being inside the heaviest part of a car wash.

I'm probably 2-3 miles southwest of you.

I'm on Old Hwy 15.

I watched a storm chaser on my phone pass by that sports complex and it was a ginormous wall cloud.

How’s BR looking? Headed that way on I-10 west in a few hours and wanted some insight.

I'm right off the roundabout. Looks like the most intense part of that line went right over us.

how do you know about the damage if you can't get a hold of your dad?

I can get ahold of my Mom, parents don't live together. My Dad's phone going to voicemail and texts not getting through.

Edit: Got ahold of my Dad, who is ok. Whew

If it's crossed I-12 then that's the one that ended up going through Pearl River. The one that did damage through Slidell crossed I-10.

And they wonder why most people treat the weather alerts as hyperbolic bullshite and don’t pay attention

That’s not too far off. For about 5-10 minutes, we were definitely getting tropical storm force winds in my area. Then we got a couple of inches of heavy rain in a few hours.

We have lots of trees down, a couple of them on cars and houses. Branches everywhere including smaller ones on my roof that I can’t get down until the rain stops. There are shingles in my pool that aren’t from my house. A neighbor’s garage door blew out and some fences are down.

But a few miles south of us looks like nothing happened but a small thunderstorm.

I’m in a plane trying to land in Nola, now being diverted to Panama City… twister in PR?? Where at?

Thats strange because all the storms are headed towards the FL panhandle now.

Are they going to land and then fly you back to NOLA when conditions at the airport there clear?
