When does new blood not become new anymore? Are you saying there are no amount of championships UConn can win the next century that will ever rid them of their “new blood” label?

Was Yale football considered a blue blood in the 70s when “new blood” USC started winning championships in the 70s?

Just trying to understand how long winning from 1920-1980 is going to be held to such a high regard that there’s no amount of failure to win you can have before you’re not a blueblood anymore

Did Louisville magically disappear? 3 titles and 10 Final Fours with 40 NCAA Tournament appearances. Yet you have Florida, Gonzaga and Michigan State there

I'd put about 5 other schools there over Gonzaga who has never won a title and been to what? 2 Final Fours?

I’m not sure if I’d necessarily agree, but I guess you can argue that given the recency of their success, they aren’t up to Kentucky, North Carolina, UCLA, Kansas or Duke’s level. They’ve undoubtedly surpassed Indiana and those other second tier programs, however. If anything, UConn is at least in blue blood purgatory.

I’m ok with purgatory as long as people are saying they deserve consideration. But my observation is this: UConn has won titles with 3 different coaches. What have UCLA and Duke been without wooden and K?

Only Kentucky and UCLA have more than them and they're tied with UNC

Also, they've won their 6 in the last 25 years

Ummm Yes…They sure did!!!! Blue Bloods…Tier I or Tier II, don’t win 4 games in a season..EVER!!!!

2024 - (8-24)
2023 - (4-28)
2022 - (13-19)

Louisville is one of the worst programs in major college basketball right now. I could not in good conscience put them on Tier I or Teir II.

2014 they got an 8 seed in the fina

Want to know how disingenuous your argument is? In 2014, they beat a #2, #3, #4, and #1 before the final game. Florida was like 30-3 that year and 2 of their 3 losses were to UConn.

New can't become old.

You can't be absent the entire 20th Century and have prominent lineage.

Now maybe in the 22nd Century when the 21st Century remembered as a new beginning, they will be the blue bloods of blue bloods.

they were a 7 seed and are arguably the worst national champion of all time with the worst national championship coach ever. they were no where even remotely in the stratosphere of a championship level team. they finished 14th in kenpom AFTER winning 6 in a row to win the natty. basically impossible to do. respectfully, frick off

it's not their fault that they won. shite, it's absolutely sweet for them. doesn't mean it's not a lucky fricking run

You find the Minnesota Vikings’ 9 conference championship appearances more impressive than the Chiefs 4 super bowls?
I find the Bills four straight conference titles more impressive than many teams one off Super Bowl seasons.

Sorry Kansas is too shitty to not get upset time and time again, but you don't have to be mad. It is not a "lucky" run to beat the #1, #2, #3, and #4 seeds. They may have had a shitty Kenpom, but that team had win over 6 ranked teams in the regular season and 3 top 15 teams in the NCAAT. They finished 32-8, so they weren't complete shite.

this has literally nothing to do with kansas who also got a lucky draw recently to get 8 seeded unc in the finals.

what exactly is your argument? that uconn under 3 different coaches (one of which who is objectively terrible) is doing something different than duke, kansas, kentucky, etc... to go 6-0 in the finals? that there's no luck involved?
