I’ve had this conversation before, and that was my position. I’m under no delusion that I’m likely to get the drop on the guy, and I understand that I’m probably not going to live to show off the scar, but none of that matters. Up to this point, I’ve led a good, fulfilling life. I would rather it come to an end than to prolong it in a way that would fundamentally change who I am and have me casting down my gaze for the rest of my “life”.

I see this is a spin off of the thread where the perp pulled a gun on 3 young women, kidnapped one, and eventually assaulted her.
But as someone else said, too many factors. Me and my woman, I am looking for an angle as soon as he walks up. I will immediately be in between her and the guy with the gun.
BUT, if he’s trying to take my wife and we have our young kids with us; I honestly don’t know what I’d do. I am pretty sure the thought of them being orphaned right in front of their eyes, will have me hesitate

I don’t care if it’s someone I just met at the grocery store. We are nothing more than the sum of our choices, and I have no interest living with myself after making the choice to slink away while leaving someone to that kind of fate.
