Because it affects me.

If I have to put my flashers on because of a legitimate hazard, I'm going to get plowed by said 80mph F250 who has seen dozens of people driving with them on already that morning.

The bitching about this issue is a Louisiana tradition apparently

I can't recall ever using my hazards while driving, but it has never bothered me in real life and I doubt it bothers the huge majority of people. I don't even think it annoys me on this board, it's just become the default baw position on this website.

Also, the "you can't see brake lights but you can see flashers?!?" is brought up every time and the answer is "uh, yes, the latter are probably easier to spot in timely fashion in blinding rain."

The body of mostly far fetched scenarios rendering this "dangerous" grows with each thread and is completely incongruent with the life experience of...everyone else.

Something your mom told you is not a “rule of thumb.”

I still can’t get over his thought process here:

1) people don’t know the actual laws
2) create new “laws” (rule of thumb) for people to follow that go AGAINST the actual laws
3) where’s the confusion?

Better to make the F250 question whether that car with flashers is actually stopped and drive as though it’s stopped until he can visually confirm through the rain that it’s actually moving. If the F250 gets upset because the flashers made him think the car was stopped when it was actually moving, then apparently he couldn’t verify the difference visually when he first became aware of the vehicle in front of him.

Wow, better to make shite way unsafe because of your insecurity with big trucks? You win the POS of the year award here.
What you dumbasses need, is someone to get in front of you and slow way down to herd your dumbass to the side of the road where you belong since you can't figure it out on your own.

Sure. Let’s not let others careless actions on a high speed hwy effect us.

I bet you've got a punchable face!

IndianPower posted a video above from the state police saying it's illegal to drive with your hazard lights on, yet you continue to double down and claim it's "rule of thumb".

I bet you also claim to be 6'-3" 200lbs, bench 350lbs and make 500k a year.

No real addition to the thread; just wanted to point out you may be the dumbest motherfricker on this website and that's saying something.

Every so often someone writes something fricking retarded you don't just question their point of view on that particular subject, you question whether or not they have the intelligence to function in society without a trusted relative nearby.

Had a dumb motherfricker with his flashers on try to quickly swerve from the right line into the left lane in front of me during a massive downpour.

I don’t know man.

I drive around them every time it rains too, and never once have I felt like they put me in an unsafe spot.

It’s not that hard to pass them and go about your day.

The only time I get pissed is when they are doing it in the left lane keeping me from passing.

You're a special kind of stupid. I'm not worried about hitting you it's the 18 wheeler behind me I'm worried about.

I was driving to Tyler a couple weeks ago and some idiot was in the left lane driving 45 in a 75 with their flashers on. This is how people get killed.

What if he wants to change lanes because a car properly pulled over? How would he signal? Roll His window down and stick his arm out?

When you use the turn signal while also having your hazard activated, the turn signal cancels out the other signal light.

Once again, where is the confusion?

It’s a perfect explanation to create new “laws” that contradict real laws and hope that people remember your “new laws” when you say they can’t remember the first set of actual laws?

There are 3,556 LA laws per google.

There are 5 rules of thumb that I can think of. Which makes for a better society?

I’m not sure what the debate is about.

Here are the facts.

Driving with your flashers on is illegal, it’s an unsafe practice for everyone on the road and if you do it you also put raisins in your potato salad.

The OT, for those keeping score:

"Hell yeah I'll be 6 feet behind you on the interstate going 90mph if you're not as fast as me, your problem baw, not mine. Left lane drivers are dangerous and they need to feel the heat from my Salt Life F250 to learn their lesson"

"I've never actually seen an incident arise from it, but it's dangerous and irresponsible for soccer moms to put on their hazards during heavy rain. My heavens, I just can't believe the recklessness."
