Now?

I'm just glad everyone has stopped pretending you can't use your hazard lights if you're moving.

That's progress.

All depends on the rain. For a regular rain, absolutely. However, rule of thumb is when your wipers can't keep up with the rain when they are full speed hazards lights are recommended
frick you, dipshit! You're a rolling hazzard you goddamned moron!

When it's dark or low light the droplets on one's windshield captures and reflects the tail lights of the car ahead. Flashing them results in the entire windshield having a flashing effect. That's a problem for a driver's eyes behind the inconsiderate, ignorant a-hole driving with their hazards on.

Agree, there's been a ton of retarded takes on here, but only a few stated something like that. I'm just glad everyone now has a clear explanation of the law in Louisiana in that its not legal for indicating with hazards to others based on the sole purpose that it's raining; and that there's a lot of people coming upon actual hazards that coincidentally are only present when it's raining. I'm thankful this has only on very rare occasion, happened to me.

To be clear, the OP is incorrect. It isn't illegal to drive in the rain with your hazard lights on.

Good luck arguing that in Louisiana. You’d get laughed at.

How about the people who don't turn their lights on at all? Almost hit one of those geniuses this morning.

According to some here, head and tail lights in rain don’t matter. Can’t see them.

What hazards are there while you’re moving? Let’s hear them. Heavy rain not being one for them.

Like I said, you’d get laughed at in Louisiana and have to pay any fine associated with a citation.

It doesn't matter.

What matters is that it isn't illegal to use your hazards just because your vehicle is moving.

I wouldn't have to pay a penny.

That's what I said, provided that you also have a vehicular traffic hazard present that you would need to indicate to other drivers.

To be clear. You’re saying the official state police outlet is wrong?

What hazard is present in your hypothetical that makes you able to have hazards on while moving?

If they take the position that it's illegal to have your hazard lights on just because it's raining and you aren’t stopped, they're wrong.

It doesn't need to be made up. That's weird.
