Watched the second episode last night. Am really enjoying it so far.

Did this stuff really happen? I'm a bit of a Vietnam history buff although admittedly on the war side itself. Had no idea stuff like this happen back in the states if it did? Really weird dynamic but it makes the show interesting.

Crazy that RDJ can pull off the different roles and not really be distracting from the story. Read somewhere that he viewed this as his unwinding after the rigor on Oppenheimer.

The material is based solely on the fictional novel of the same name. I don't recall any anecdotal stories or research about this coming out from the Vietnamese refugee community at that time.

RDJ is a true master of his craft. I watched several of his scenes in person and he generally nailed them in less than three takes. A very generous and kind guy who knew all of the crew by name.
