He should get roasted because he’s a moron- his forgiveness went though PSLF which is a bush-era law and would have occurred irrespective of administration.

I can’t think of anything more demeaning than a grown man having his F’in pronouns in his bio.

PLSF has been in place for many years. Based on his loan disbursement dates, this is about when he would have gotten full forgiveness, assuming he met the requirements (i.e., worked in a qualifying job and made all his regular payments for 10 years), regardless of who is president. It was actually expanded in 2018 under Trump and DeVoss.

Melt.

Thanks to the save plan I'll be paying $400 instead of $1000 a month for another 5 years and will qualify for the same. 100k gone if approved.

His hobbies don't change the fact that he satisfied the 10 years of service and payments required for loan forgiveness. I'm less than a year out for ~200k of forgiveness.

Yeah, this is not the hill to die on. Lots of doctors and pharmacists take advantage of this. My wife is a director of pharmacy for a for-profit hospital that just got bought by a bigger hospital group that is non-profit. Now her younger pharmacists that have lots of debt can work for 10 years with the new hospital and get $100k forgiven. Unfortunately, pharmacy school is expensive as frick and it’s not uncommon for some to graduate with over $200k of debt.

Thought to ponder: would there be less outrage if instead of loan forgiveness, there was a program that paid out, say, $100k in a lump sum to people who work a qualifying public service job for 10 years?

As someone who paid off 90+ k in 2.5 years because I didn’t want that shite hanging over me I fricking hate stories like this. Paying that money down was like a drug for my wife and I when we first got married. Made us prioritize stuff and gave us a tremendous sense of accomplishment when we did. Made all the subsequent purchases like a new car, house feel all the more rewarding as well.

The good part here is he is a Dad, so he's just going to put that money back into the scam that is our college education complex here in the US. Cost of raising a kid until 18 is 300k, but most of you raise them until 30 now so the math is not in his favor.

As one of the tweeters/twits pointed out, the tax man should count that as income.

An 18 year old can’t buy a $200,000 house, but can get a student loan for $200,000?

While us taxpayers continue to pay off the debts for people like this who won't pay to what they agreed to pay. He's a mother fricking deadbeat.

If you have to put pronouns in your Bio you've had a cock in your mouth at some point in life.

You know a man is a bona fide sissy if he has to tell you his preferred pronoun is "He/Him."

So long as the forgiveness is taxable income (as any other forgiven loan would be), that's fine.
