The scary part…next years squad?

I’ve accepted this year. I thought maybe we could scratch out a game at Tenn then get hot on the back half. It won’t happen, this team lacks the dudes to do it.
I’m honestly okay with it, Jay brought us a title in year two and continues to recruit at a high clip.
My concern is our roster next year and the development of younger talent. If there is any knock on Jay it’s the lack of development with younger talent.
Millazo, Travinski, Bingham, and White are all gone. You have to hope guys like Neal, Jones, and Kling can turn the corner. That’s the scary part for me right now. I don’t see Neal and Kling flipping a switch.
Hope this freshman class can lead and the portal gods bring talent or next years roster my be worse.

Needs to hit on the transfer portal

Until it isn’t an unmitigated mess of disorganization at all levels he’ll have to bring in historically great rosters like last season. That’s going to be a tough ask for anyone.

How did this happen? Setting up to be the worst LSU baseball season since pre-Skip back when we were like most of the rest of the country still is and don't GAF about college baseball.
Worst post Skip season in SEC play was Maneiri's first 12-17.
Have to go back to LaMabe in 81 at 7-14 to find worse....Jim Smith in 78 was 6-18,
This can't happen here.

With the portal it is too soon to worry about next years team

We should really channel that Marucci slush fund to getting as much of this #1 class to campus and crush the portal. I would be shocked if there isn’t a mass exodus

Give the young guys some time and just accept this year as an opportunity to gain valuable experience. Nearly everyone we have played this year has tons of SEC experience.
There was a time when fans wanted Kramer Robertson run out of town, only to turn into one of our better players. Hope for growth from these guys and then a couple big signings from the portal.

did you see Milazzo hitting .290 last year after multiple years below the Mendoza line?

LSU is gonna get Griffin and Schmidt for next year, so there’s that

At least they will have some pitchers with Jump, Anderson, noot and Johnson

Agree. Kling and Neal have been given every opportunity. They are not SEC level

If there's a repeat of this year, Johnson will be fired.

He's developed plenty of talent over the years. Y'all are really letting one down season completely wreck ya.
I feel confident next year will be much better.

Outside of White that is no real loss... You lose players all the time. Also, how do you think White wound up here? Jay Johnson. There are great players every year to be had. Look at the bats he's brought in like Berry and White when needing to replace 3rd base. We just missed on those studs this offseason, but I believe Johnson finds another elite bat. I believe if we had gotten Montgomery this season to pair with White that LSU has at least 4 more SEC wins right now. I think Jay Johnson will hit on another elite bat in the portal. He has proven he can do this.

Yes, this Fresh class should be great. We are an inexperienced team. Let them get some experience. Larson is looking promising. Herring has looked great in only his 2nd season. There are some positives to be had.

The problem with championships is you normally lose half the team. Then next year you wind up flouncing around. Only take the loss of 3/4 players to make a difference. Hard to repeat in any sport. Can be done, but unlikely.
