Remained married to the same woman for 25 years. Never cheated. Raised two children from birth to college on one salary for most of those years.

I used to work for a connector company. Wetmate electrical and fiber optical connectors. Went to NASA in Florida to look at launch pad cameras.
Shuttle used to be held down by explosive bolts. Main engine would start, then the solid rocket boosters. Once everything was verified as burning the bolts were blown and the shuttle would almost jump off the pad.
At any rate it took a month to get security clearance, met with head of engineering at NASA, then went by small shuttle bus out to launch pad. Atlantis was on the pad. 2 cameras on each explosive bolt used on solid boosters. Literally walked the pad less that 2 feet from shuttle and boosters. Went up in elevator astronauts use, etc. the pad itself is made up and covered with 1 inch steel plates. Vibration is so bad that they often get huge splits in plates. They just throw another down and weld into place. Super random and uneven. Imagine throwing 52 playing cards down 1 “ thick.
We did the inner perimeter tour that surrounds pad including the bunker where astronauts would have to wire line down if they had a few seconds to escape. Was an unforgettable day at NASA.
Why were we there? They were looking to switch camera feeds to fiber optic through our connectors. Vibration caused severe issues with camera feeds back then. Fiber optics don’t care about vibration.
Unfortunately no photos were allowed and all cameras and devices had to be checked. Had a chance to pick up a shuttle tile. Weighed almost nothing, like a piece of styrofoam. They did give us a few things as a token of the visit. One thing is a piece of heavy wire about 4 inches long. It is used in space for some specific applications. You can twist, bend , and contort the wire. Drop it in a cup of hot water and it immediately goes back to original straight wire. Bizzare. Think it is used when they want to open things up like a big sail or canopy and they use the sun as the source of heat in space.

Might sound small but I run 5 miles about 3-4 times a week. Not many people in the world can run 5+ miles.
Have also done a half marathon

I walked about a mile into an abandoned mine without a flashlight in the Transylvanian Alps.
Easily one of my dumbest moments.

Drove around my HS track. What's the old saying? "God looks out for fools and drunks"?

Shook hands with bear Bryant at the age of 3. He told me I would grow up to be a heck of a ball player. I’m sorry I let you down, bear.
