They have already drawn a red line and said that if the US gets involved to help Israel, then they will get involved to help Iran. With Biden at the helm, it doesnt sound like much of a bluff to me.

But they would have to divert a LOT of resources from Ukraine to do so.
Plus it risks US intervention, which would likely be on both fronts. Russia doesn't want to have to deal with that b/c they' take a huge L in both arenas and then would only have nukes to fall back on.
