Possibly more of God pushing me where I need to be.

Our house was wrecked to shite from Ida. That and a number of other, out of our control, events made our marriage fairly rough from the start. I could see the career I was progressing in was going to be a dead end, no promotional opportunities, miserable people to be around and managed by, surrounded by liars, so I started applying elsewhere.

I kept at the house, the interviews went no where and my mental state was low. I started thinking to myself, “Jesus put me in this situation with a busted house because he knows I’m strong enough to do the repairs. He know the family that does eventually buy this house will enjoy it. He placed me here to create a home for the next family.”

My wife is a saint to put up with me. We’ve been through a lot. I had to place all of it in Jesus’ hands and move one day at a time.

I’m sure I’ll find a job in time. I’m still applying, still grinding. I can’t say I enjoy my current role at all. Mindset has been uplifting and maybe the earlier prayers for help were his way. I read through “Wild at Heart” by John Eldredge. Really interesting perspective.

Have recently learned something about my prayer life. The Bible says, 'you ask but don't receive because you ask for the wrong reason'. My wife has had a rough month health wise and I would pray that her wellness be restored and then it dawned on me, 'but why do you ask this of Me'....so that her joy in You be restored and shared...seemed to have been of helps!
