Every time I got summoned previously, I was using my parents address while living out of state for college. So I never had to go. First time as an adult being summoned.

Figured if I tell them something like "I believe I am pretty fair, but at times I have trouble suppressing my inner prejudiced thoughts" I should be sent home rather quickly

Wear a hockey mask and keep loudly exclaiming “who’s frying bologna?”

I interned for a federal judge a long time ago. He didn't buy most excuses, but one that worked was some guy said that his god did not allow him to judge anybody.

I have never been able to get out of jury duty in Baton Rouge - first time I was summoned I was 9 months pregnant, and the second time I had paperwork to show I homeschool (teachers are able to get out of jury duty) but they said it didn’t count

So I sat there both times and didn’t even get on a jury

Just don’t go. Nothing will happen. You’ll be summoned again later.

Doctor's excuse.

Don't register to vote.

Borrow a toddler or a baby and let them run wild or cry.

I feel like I’m one of the few people that have always wanted to be called on for jury duty.

I had one time where I was called in but there ended up being some kind of system issue so they sent everyone home and we didn’t have to come back.

Feels like it would be a great experience

dress like an executioner - mask and all, carry an axe for beheading and say you feel everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

If it is a personal injury case just raise your hand when the question, "Who believes that back pain can be faked?" is asked. That did it for me.

If it is a summons for the grand jury selection, do it if you are selected. It is worth the hassle to see what really goes on in your town/county/parish.

I hate when those get delivered to the neighbor's mailbox. Then they don't do the right thing and put it in mine. Result, you don't get it because that piece of mail got delivered to the wrong address. It's unreal. Same thing with those Red Light camera tickets where they want you to send money to some Seattle P.O. Box. I mean, I've never gotten one, just my friend was telling me.

Ask them if you can postpone your service to December. If they allow it you most likely won’t get re-summoned. Nobody wants to start a trial right before Christmas.
