Then maybe not registering helps with federal jury duty which is worse anyway?

I got called at the end of January...
They didn't care that it was one of our busiest times at work. They also didn't care that I didn't want to be there.
They called.. I think..750 people on Monday, you sat in a big room and IF they actually called you, they texted you to come to the door.
Got called about 15 minutes after I got there... on a Rape from 1988. I kid you not. A 1988 rape. Anyways... they called 55 people, and called US in groups of 15. Asked questions... dismissed some... most were dismissed for being... different than the defendant, being suburban white women with kids, some with cause for reasons they couldn't serve without it being a hardship (found out that being diabetic and "having to eat every 2 or 3 hours" didn't count as a hardship), then called more to replace those...
oh yeah... it was a sequestered jury... judge told them that they'd have an opportunity to go home, get their things and be back in 1/2 an hour or so to go to the motel where they were being sequestered. THAT would REALLY suck.
Took ALL dang day... but at the end, never got called and got thanked for my service and now I'm good for the next 10 years.
1988 rape case. Defendant was in a wheelchair with oxygen. Heck, he looked as if he didn't have long anyways.

I moved back to Louisiana in 2002 and was never summoned for jury duty until I registered to vote against Joe Biden.
I was never summoned based on driver's license alone. Since re-registering to vote, I've been summoned twice in a 9 month period and got excused based on medical disability.
Before you say anything else, I am not a Trumper and believe that it is a person's right TO NOT VOTE as much as it is a right TO VOTE.
God Bless America!
