It's definitely possible that over 200k caitlyn Clark jerseys were sold.
The qualifier for the CEO's statement was that it was the most sold jersey on their platform for any person on their draft night, someone else took that and spun it into CC selling more jerseys than the Dallas Cowboys.
What we do know:
1. CC sold the most jerseys out of anyone on the night that they were draft
through the Fanatics platform (This is entirely plausible since the WNBA has an exclusive partnership with Fanatics as do the other major sports leagues)
What we don't know:
1. How many CC jerseys were sold
2. How many people bought Dallas Cowboys jerseys through the fanatics platform.
Side note: I buy probably a dozen jerseys a year (soccer) but I use DHGate.

Do the Cowboys still lead the league in sales?

Now, watch if some big time free agent goes to anew team. That jersey will sell like wildfire. It's all about market saturation.
ETA:
No numbers given, but I found this tweet & article about 2023 season jersey sales from Lids..

seems to be the case on every article that mentions jersey sales. it's pretty clear they don't want the info to get out on how few jerseys they actually sell

That is my take on it as well, assuming it's true. CC has generated lots of "new basketball fans" that weren't fans before or certainly not WBB fans before.
Her opponents in the WNBA have moved their games against her to bigger Arenas to handle the ticket demand. Call her the Road Warrior I guess.... And who knows how long this will last....she could easily get denigrated and swallowed up in the toxic WNBA Rapinoe-like nonsense league.
That's why she was low-balled by Shoe/apparel Companies with only 2-3 year deals, only Nike came in with an 8 year deal.
True, she signed thousands of autographs for little girls at sold out Iowa games AND road games....but that's the College effect. Even the two-time WNBA MVP doesn't have a shoe deal because nobody cares and doesn't know her name. And some idiot columnists are crying racism because they don't understand capitalism. I do doubt the Caitlin Clark effect can be sustainable....she's walking into a league that tends to do everything possible to be unlikable.

How soon before she comes out as lesbian?

Black people cannot stand CC22 and have been attacking her nonstop for months. Its wild.
Its a component of why the WNBA has no fans. They can't fricking sell the product.... They tried on draft night, made the women look like women.
But its not just racial jealousy, its purely female jealously, like Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird shitting on her. They feel scorned because they were great players who nobody bothered to watch.

I think you just nailed the MO and exactly how this bullsh# propaganda is catapulting The Agenda (Phantom Buyers make insane Bulk Buy).
We've seen the same Agenda-driven MO play out with "The #1 New York Times Best Selling Book!!" BS, ex: the 0bamas, the Clintoons, Lynn Cheney etc etc. -- when its obvious few have actually bought the clap-trap crap.)
Did they rig the ratings too to make it look like all those people watched her play? Could it just be possible that an exciting player who hits insane shots that the women's game has never seen before is a genuine attraction that young girls (with their parents discretionary income) are flocking to?
You people are so ate up with politics you can't even enjoy a young woman breaking through and enjoying success.

Yea I can’t see nfl jersey numbers being some astronomical numbers each year.
Fans aren’t buying multiple jerseys year after year. Maybe if your team gets a great new player you might buy that. Or when a player has a great season. Or somebody’s young son just getting into football wants his first jeresey. But these numbers are likely small year after year.

If you can’t see and acknowledge that the desire to have womens basketball be equal to mens is driven by off the court agenda then I don’t know what to tell you.

They rigged the insane HYPE. Is it possible that made all those people curious enough to watch her play?

Organically? Nope. It's more Bread & Circus distraction.
This is absolutely all nothing but media-driven, politically agenda MO hype.
