This is a completely lying statement. Not saying you are a liar… oh wait yes I am. Was Jay involved. Absolutely. Was DD asking for it and working on it before Jay even got here. Absolutely. Was DD the main person raising funds. Absolutely.
Some quotes about the facility so you can educate yourself…
When current athletic director Joe Alleva arrived in 2008, Breaux told him of her vision to build a world-class gymnastics training facility.
Breaux spent years raising millions in private donations, visiting practice facilities across the country to figure out what she wanted to include at LSU and what she didn’t. The facility finally opened in early 2016
Soon after, legendary U.S. Olympic gymnast Bart Conner visited while covering a meet at LSU. After having a look around at Breaux’s vision made real in brick and glass and steel, Conner declared the facility the best in the world.

Look Ryan, I'm not here to discredit or bash DD, but simply to give credit where credit is due. Nor am I trying to engage in some sort of gymnastics pissing contest.
I have no doubt that DD probably asked JA for a first-class arena. But asking for and providing a clear action plan of how to get it done are two entirely different things. Of course DD raised money in the past. As does any HC of LSU, as it's literally in their job descriptions.
The historical fact though, is that Jay Clark absolutely spearheaded the vision and plan to get it done. Jay came from a program with 10 National championships. Jay recruited gymnasts for all 10 of those championships. He knew what it took to win championships. And to DD's credit, she hired him away from a Georgia. Jay was being undermined by Susanne, UGA's legendary 10-time NC Head Coach, who stayed involved after "retiring" as HC of the Gym-Dogs. DD hired him with the understanding that she would retire after a few years. So Jay was setting this program up to have quick success once he took over. He has a NC in year 4. DD was a good coach but never won a NC in 4+ decades.
There is no argument here. Stop discrediting Jay Clark's value and embrace what you now have. A winner, at the highest level. A program that now makes money. Enjoy it!
