Because they want to make you think we live in a democracy. A politician can have the best intentions going into it, but once they start to become the candidate that is likely to win more donations start coming in and those donations are not free.

George Carlin tells about staying at home on election day.

But will you still be able to do that, or will those states no longer ship to LA?

Yes . Nobody’s worried about weed and mushrooms. You’ll always be able to get it . Now you’ll need a cash app to pay for it .

I’m thinking potheads don’t give a frick.

The rustled are people trying to legally enjoy a very minor but good source of relief.

That Devil lettuce must be stopped, who cares it can produce millions in tax revenue. Praise be.

Everyone knows that one person who knows that other person where you can get whatever you want.

If the state doesn’t want to benefit from increased revenue from taxes on a product that’s federally legal oh well

You can walk into a gas station in Alabama right now and buy pre-rolled Delta 9 joints for $6.

I'm confused about how this supercedes the Farm Bill of 2018 which makes this definition clear.

Imagine how much better the GOP would do nationally if they’d bend on the weed issue. They wouldn’t even have to change their principles. Just lean on their small government mantra. This issue kills them with younger voters.

That shite isn't happening. There are drug courts with diversion all over the state.

Be it jail or giving someone a record as a criminal.

Last I checked I I believe there are roughly 32,000 people in jail for marijuana. Most of those at the state level.

Some sites you can but people are getting away from credit cards due to fees . It’s much easier with cash app, Venmo , Zelle . It’s still illegal in Louisiana but no one cares unless you’re order more than 10 metric tons of it .

This bill is solely because of the bible thumpers that need everyone else to live under their moral code. I say this as someone who has never purchased a THC product

I have family members in Louisiana who were all part of a family-owned beer distribution business. Almost all of them vehemently oppose marijuana legalization. You know what the ironic part is? Our family beer business was started to capitalize on the ending of Prohibition.

Drinking alcohol has always been engrained in NOLA and Acadiana culture due to heavy Southern European influence on that region of that state. A lot of Italian families live in South LA. I don’t like to stereotype, but I can say for certain that a lot of Italian families in LA have a strong affinity for partying and drinking. This leads to a bias against marijuana.

More likely a marijuana charge is incidental to other significant charges like aggravated battery.

States and local government are allowed to restrict federal laws as they see fit. A good example is alcohol. In the northern part of the state, Louisiana has dry parishes where alcohol sales are prohibited.

it's incredible how many people really think the reason their lives are the way they are is because of the party in power and if they only can get theirr guys in there then eeverrything will turn around and be great.

they're all selling you out.

This board is famous for this "thats what you voted for".

If it was only that easy. People don't understand that there are politicians who are only in the party they are in because that's what they have to be to get elected. Its all a ruse.

While I'm not entirely sure of the Louisiana legislatures intentions, I do know that there is movement across multiple states to curtail the sale of hemp based THC products that were made legal through the farm bill. The movement is primarily happening in states were medical and/or recreational use of of marijuana is already legal. There are two main reasons for the movement. First and foremost hemp based THC products are taxed at lower rates and/or sold at lower rates lowering effective tax. This of course drives consumers to Hemp vs Marijuana effecting estimated revenue collections. The second reason is public safety and health concerns as there are more synthesized hemp products in the market that are hard to regulate and test for residual chemicals used during the synthesis process.
