Not sure how I feel about this to be honest. I just keep imagining my teachers in elementary school owning or attempting to use a gun. I don’t think it would do a damn thing and I doubt any of those teachers would have the balls to pull a trigger, ever, and even if they did, to use it remotely accurately in a high pressure situation? Impossible.

It’s because the kids in Memphis are armed and “be on demon time!”

Throw a hornet's nest among them or start tazing them indiscriminately, I guarantee they would suddenly find life.

What (D) are not telling you ...

Superintendent, Principal, Police Chief/Sheriff all must sign off before faculty can carry a firearm into school.

If any 1 listed above do not sign off then it will not happen.

Also there are several states that have this policy in place.

They staged a "die in"? How committed to the cause were they? How many actually died? If none, then it was a pretty bad "die in". Can democrats get ANYTHING right?

Mini Al Sharpton is the gift that keeps on giving. Mid 80’s IQ, sports a man bun, and is living his best life pretending it’s 1965.

How’s Fairview treating you? My nephew just bought a house there closes in May. I’ve got 7 more years here in Franklin then I’m building a compound out your way.

Time and time again, we’ve seen that law enforcement, in a mass shooting event, stand back and take a wait-and-see approach, with the ‘see’ being ‘let’s see if he gets tired or shooting people, or runs out of ammo’.

At Virginia Tech, students shoved chairs against the door and retreated to the far corner and balled up. When the kid started shooting them, them tried to retreat further, as if pushing a couple of inches further away would make a difference. He was emboldened by their lack of fighting back. Columbine, same. Uvalde, same. Vegas, same. Parkland, same. When an idiot pulls a gun and starts shooting, there should be a dozen guns shooting back, even if there is some risk in that.

Let them “die” on the floor all they want.

Cut off the lights and HVAC and leave them there. They wanna act like petulant children.. let them act like petulant children in the dark in an empty place.

Not sure giving todays crazy lib teachers the abilities to carry guns in schools is a good thing. I’d rather to fill schools with retired military or retired police officers . Quite possibly the best solution is volunteer qualified parents to work in shifts

I think this is awesome and Louisiana should get on boars.

Have the teachers that want to do it go through similar training and evals as law enforcement with yearly continuing education when they ate off during the summer to maintain.

If only they'd really died. If they want to protest, there's a few recent fiery examples of the proper way to protest. Someone should point out that the bar for protest is now to set yourself ablaze.

I'm a SRO at a pretty rough school. Personally, I wish the coaches were armed. Along with my A.P.s, that would give me at least 8 back-ups until the cavalry arrived.

As a teacher, the main concern parents have is unstable teachers carrying guns. But the whole thing is that you must have a conceal carry permit which takes training to carry in a school. These are people that are experienced. I don't see how this is a bad thing.

The people who opposed this don't understand freedom. This never should have been restricted in the first place.

The program is reasonably well-structured, and MAYBE it has some deterrent value, but $100 says that the first person shot with a teacher’s gun will be an innocent student or teacher.
