I mean this site loves to talk about groomers and talk about how a movie like Lightyear is grooming kids, but hates on someone that was an true victim of grooming. I mean I think it kind of showed the power a groomer could have over someone. I honestly don't think it was as easy as "he could have easily just stopped". That dude was a professional groomer and knew what he was doing.

You're comparing kids being groomed to a man being groomed. He definitely should have manned the frick up after the first time he woke up and knew he had been fondled.

I'm talking grooming in general. I guess people stop hating on groomers on here when it's against an adult? I would have manned up and probably been sent to jail for life after I killed the dude. But not everybody is the same. He obviously had some mental issues as well and that dude messed him up. I mean he was a professional groomer, I can't relate to the dude, but I have some pity for him because he was seriously taken advantage of.

Sure, he "should" have. But the entire point was that the guy had intentionally formed an intense emotional relationship with him that he was deeply reliant on personally, emotionally, and professionally, and for a guy who probably already struggles with mental health or has super low self esteem or whatever, those lines get grey I imagine.

I thought that portion of the story was incredibly well told. Kudos to them for showing a darker side of the LGBTQ stuff that is almost forbidden to discuss at this point.
