Not sure why there was such a push for this.
He cheated at that time. The rules changing do not undo this. He is still a cheater.

Should be clear this is a bad idea when the main person pushing for it is Manziel.

Just stop!!!!!

Bush earned the Heisman on the field just like every single other Heisman winner. If you took a nice deep look into every Heisman winner I can guarantee you’d find “illegal” benefits bestowed on every single one.

I put cheating that directly affects the product on the field (PEDs in baseball, etc) in a very different category than “cheating” that has nothing to do with on field performance. Reggie earned that trophy on the field. Him getting money off the field doesn’t change that for me.

I would give a shite if those looking into these things applied it to all programs and players. Unfortunately, this was extremely commonplace for years and everyone knew it was going on. Things like the Bama players getting Dodge Chargers is still a running joke that everyone basically acknowledges as truth.

If he had cheated on the field, then I'd have a problem with him. My issue here was more on the adults in charge breaking the rules to lure recruits to their programs and those who look into such things clearly ignoring what they wanted to.

Cmon man. Taking benefits off the field is not cheating. Cheating only applies to what happens on the field (PEDS, etc.).

To say Reggie doesn’t deserve that Heisman is ridiculous, and not in the spirit of the award.
