And a single dads ability to do this:

When my parents divorced it was decided that I needed to live with my dad. I was 12-13 years old. I was a pretty wild teenager and would have run all over my mother. She wouldn't have been able to handle me at that age.

Not something I'm particularly proud of as an adult, I was a moron as a teenager.

Nope.I think you're missing the point. Completely.

How many times has your wife convinced you to take it easy on the kids when they mess up? 90% of the time? Now imagine if you weren't around?

Your kids would be eatting cereal out of the box in the living room with their bare hands. Cereal all over the floor.... you know why? Cause mom doesn't want to correct them and upset them. Your kids would talk back and every issue that comes up turns into a debate....

I have seen this with 35 yr old mommas, and I've seen it with 45 yr old mommas and another one in her early 50's. 3 of the 4 I am referring to make more than $50k per year and all of them got child support.

They complain about the dad's... endlessly.

Go talk to an elementary school teacher. They will tell you what the statistics say and kids with active, plugged in dads. I have had these conversations.

No one is diminishing the role of momma's. Kids need both parents in their lives.....

Dad's are teachers, disciplinarians and standard bearers. We teach our kids how to make a budget. How to change a flat. We hold them accountable when their grades are slacking, when their effort is low or when their attitude is bad.

We keep it real with our kids.... cause the real world isn;t easy and life ain't fair.

Not even close

And when she does, she often kind of has a point. Because like most men, I have a tendency to overemphasize discipline and structure. My wife balances me out.

Aside from you, everyone I’ve replied to has done exactly that.

This is quite literally the only point I’m making in this thread.
