re: How did Hamas become a darling of the left?

In cultural Marxist intersectionality, the Palestinians are the victims (proletariat), and the Jews are the victimizers (bourgeoisie).

It makes no sense considering that Jews are far outnumbered and far more politically/socially progressive than everyone else in their region, but rationality is not part of this calculus.

The stupid thing is that Hamas (and every other Muslim group) would kill these protesters if the two groups lived together. I once heard an Israeli Jew once say that “In Tel Aviv, we have the largest gay pride parade in the Middle East. Or more accurately, in Tel Aviv, we have the only gay pride parade in the Middle East. They tried one in Ankara, but it ended in 5 minutes after a bunch of people were assaulted.”
