It’s not institutionalized. The Church does not encourage or sponsor sexual assault.That notion is as dumb as when people believe that racism is institutionalized in our governments and legal systems in the U.S.
Just as with every other segment of the population, there is a very small percentage of pedophiles among Catholic priests. The percentage is roughly the same as the percentage of pedophiles in the general population.
