Are we sure it's not because all the frogs and kids are turning gay?

Thank goodness we have a well defined and controlled immigration process to insure the best and brightest in the world are coming in to make up for this lower birth rate.

The middle class can't afford to have large families anymore.

Not as bad as China. They're really screwed.
Anytime you're selling more adult diapers than baby diapers your country is in trouble.

Hate to see it...

It's fine. We need less young people having kids. Most are terrible parents, who want to be friends with their kids.

Without reading the link, I have no doubt that overly processed foods is messing people up. The financial part of it speaks for itself.

Shocking... Combine that with all these sow boys afraid to talk to women in person, afraid to drive, move away from mommy...

You can track this by economic cycles. Anytime we have an economic downturn, fertility rate drops.

We have been hovering close to record low numbers for awhile, since the last economic downturn in 2007, so dropping below due to economic uncertainly seems like an obvious conclusion.

South Korea is WAY ahead of us. They really are screwed.

"South Korea's fertility rate -– the number of children a woman is expected to have in her lifetime -– dropped to 0.72 in 2023, down nearly 8 percent from 2022, according to preliminary data from Statistics Korea."

A lot of people under 30 aren't having near as much actual sex as people under 30 did back in the 60s-90s. Most HONEST people in this demo will admit this to you. Couple this with way more women working FT now and not wanting (or having the energy left over) to deal with a family and there you go.

You can thank the proliferation of phones, social media, video games, etc...WSJ had an article a while back detailing how millennials are having less sex than any other generation ever.

And will continue to if the government keeps hammering the middle class and wasting taxpayer money.
